Affiliate Marketing For Newbies

By: Ashley Moore

Let me first start by defining what an affiliate is. An affiliate is the middleman for buyers and sellers. Affiliate marketing runs in the same manner as a car dealership. Just as the salesman makes a commission for every car he sales you will make a commission for every sale you create. The amount of commission depends on the seller. You can see commission percentages as low as 1% or as much as 95%.

The best part of affiliate marketing is that you do not need to have a website, product (provided by the seller) and in most cases little to no investment. The process of becoming an affiliate for a seller is simple you fill out a form which includes you name, address (so you can be sent a check) and a in some cases you social security or Tax ID number.

Once you have completed this process, depending on the merchant’s process, you will be given what is called an affiliate link. This is a special link that includes your unique affiliate name. This link is what you will market. When a potential buyer clicks on your affiliate link he/she will be linked to the merchant’s website and if they make a purchase through your affiliate link then you are given credit for that sale and make whatever the commission rate is.

There are many ways to market your affiliate link. The first thing you can do is place classified ads. Whether they are free or paid this is up to you. If you choose to place a paid classified ad you must keep in mind that you are responsible for that payment, not the merchant. Another great way to market your affiliate link is through your signature in all the emails you send or in the forums you frequent. You may choose to create a free blog as well. This works well if you are doing a review of a product.

Becoming an affiliate is perfect for anyone who hates to sell because your job is not to sell it is just to lead the buyer to the merchant’s site, where the selling is done. Another great pro about being an affiliate is that once you place an ad or make a post in a forum or send out an email you can be paid for sales that may take place months or years after you do those things.

Work From Home – Beginners Guide

By: Ashley Moore

Everyday more and more people are going home from their demanding jobs and/or bosses sitting down at the computer and realizing they are tired of it. They are tired of answering to a higher authority, also know as their boss, for every move they make. They want to change things and make their life better but are unsure where to start. If you are reading this then you must be one of those people. To get started there are a few things you need to do.

1. You first need to decide exactly what it is you want to do. For some, this is the hardest part. Do you want to do affiliate marketing, freelance work, telecommuting, become a virtual assistant, ect. If you are lucky enough to have a skill and know you can market it on the internet then you may already have your decision made.
2. Research, Research, Research! I cannot stress this enough. Before you jump into anything you need to research and make sure it is legitimate. Too many people are scammed everyday out of the hard earned money they are trying so desperately hard to earn more of. This is happening because they are to eager to start working from home and do not do their research first.
3. You need to have a set schedule and stay on that schedule. Just as in the work force you have a set time to arrive and a set time to leave work you need to do the same with your home business. Make sure you include your breaks into the schedule.
4. You need to be sure that you have a space strictly for your work area. I understand that not everyone has the benefits of having a separate home office but you do need a small corner with all the tools you will need to run your business daily. Make sure it is quiet, comfortable and you have all the essential tools.
5. Keep your work area organized and clutter free. An organized and clutter free work area will help you to keep an organized and clutter free mind. This will improve your thinking and keep your stress levels at a minimum.

If you can follow these few tips then you should have a happy and successful work from home experience.
